The Wandering Wheels Volkssport Club is sponsoring a non-competative 5k and 10k volkswalk at Thomas Cloud Park, 4707 Brandt Pike, Hubert Heights on July 24th. The walk is free and open to everyone but you must register prior to walking. Registration is from 9am to noon and all walkers must be finished by 4pm. Woodland Historic Cemetery and Arboretum is teaming up with The Humane Society for the Tour Guides and is for all sociable dogs and their owners. The walk includes the history of the famous and the infamous people who are buried at Woodland. The event is free. Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 7. The Dayton Philharmonic Concert Band will perform a FREE concert on Sunday, Aug. 8 at 2 p.m. at St. Christopher Church in Vandalia. Dayton Philharmonic will conduct an exciting program to include music of John Williams, Karl King, and John Philip Sousa, and others. The Fairborn Senior Center along with American Legion Post 526 invite you to A Summer’s Evening of Art, dinner and art auction on Saturday August 14th. The evening will start with a preview of the art at 5 PM followed by dinner at 5:30. The Huber Heights Senior Center invites area seniors to come and participate in a health screening at the senior center from 9-11:30 a.m. on August 30th. This is open to the community and walk-ins may be served if there is enough space. The screenings will check for total cholesterol, HDL, blood sugar, A1C for diabetics, blood pressure, height and weight measurements, and colorectal home screening kits. No fasting is required.
